Engineering Applications of Surge Arresters in Different Power Electronic Systems 、

This paper addresses various overvoltage conditions that may occur in different power electronic transmission systems such as STATCOM, HVDC, series compensation, static synchronous condensers, filter capacitor banks, and DC de-icing. Based on the working principles and characteristics of different types of surge arresters, combined with simulation studies and practical engineering experience, this study summarizes and proposes appropriate arrester models for rational application in various systems to enhance the safety and reliability of power electronic systems.
