Applied Research on Upgrading and Renovation of Radial Gate Control Systems with Independent Controllability

  • The radial gate control system is a core component of hydropower station flood discharge facilities, and its reliability directly affects dam safety and flood control capability. The original radial gate control system at Yinpan Hydropower Station adopted Schneider Premium series PLC and InTouch configuration software, which has been in operation for 15 years since 2011. Problems include discontinuation of key modules, frequent equipment aging failures, single-point failure risks in network structure, redundant data transmission links, and insufficient monitoring information. This paper presents an independent and controllable upgrade scheme based on the domestic NARI N310 series PLC, systematically elaborating the technical routes from five dimensions: domestic substitution of core controllers, network topology optimization, software platform integration, signal acquisition link simplification, and monitoring information enhancement. After the upgrade, the core control equipment has achieved independent controllability, eliminated single-point failure risks, simplified data transmission links, and enriched monitoring information dimensions. Five radial gates have been upgraded with good operation performance, providing a reference engineering practice for the domestic upgrade of key equipment in the hydropower industry.
