Research Progress of Design and Construction Technology of Flywheel Energy Storage System

  • Flywheel energy storage technology features high power density and rapid response characteristics, aligning closely with the objectives of the "dual carbon" strategy, and has significant development potential at the engineering application level. Focusing on the key issues of flywheel energy storage systems during construction, this paper reviews recent domestic and international research around "system selection and collaborative commissioning-system dynamic response-construction and installation impacts-intelligent monitoring and early warning." The analysis shows that foreign research emphasizes breakthroughs in material performance, while domestic research focuses on structural optimization and improvement of control strategies. The content of this paper can provide references for the large-scale engineering application of flywheel energy storage technology in the future.
