Protocol Design and Implementation of an Extended IEC 104 Adapted to Forward Isolation Gateways in Green Power Production
-
Abstract
?SAddressing the challenges in integrated green power-chemical production systems, where the standard IEC 104 protocol struggles to transmit wind and solar power forecasting data and its client/server communication system conflicts with the security regulation of power system positive-isolation gaps, an enhanced communication protocol based on an improved IEC 104 frame structure is proposed. The protocol extends ASDU (Application Service Data Unit) types to support the transmission of continuous analog forecasting data and reconfigures the client/server communication roles. This reconfiguration enables communication clients located in high-security zones to actively report data to servers residing in low-security zones. Application results demonstrate that the proposed protocol provides a feasible communication framework for synergistic green power-chemical coordination.
