Design and Implementation of Protection Scheme for the 10kV Auxiliary Power System in Hydropower Station

Abstract
A complete relay protection scheme was designed to meet the renovation requirements of a 10kV auxiliary power system at a hydropower station. The paper focuses on the requirements and design approach for integrated protection devices, optimizes the auto bus transfer logic, introduces an arc flash protection system as a supplementary fast arc quenching measure, and analyzes solutions to problems encountered during implementation. The proposed scheme effectively balances reliability, speed, and selectivity.
