Research on Optimal Allocation and Cooperative Operation of Wind-Solar-Storage Systems under High Penetration of Renewable Energy

  • In order to build a safe, reliable, green, and high-efficient new-type power system and promote the transformation of the energy structure under the dual carbon goals, this paper addresses the accommodation pressure and peak-shaving challenges brought by high penetration of renewable energy by proposing a two-stage method for optimal energy storage allocation and cooperative operation. In the first stage, based on a set of typical operational scenarios and aiming to reduce renewable energy abandonment rate as well as energy storage investment costs, the selection of storage types and capacity configuration is optimized under system security constraints. In the second stage, a cooperative operation strategy for wind-PV-storage systems is developed with the objective of improving the overall operational economy of the system. Simulation results based on a coastal regional grid in Jiangsu Province show that the proposed method can effectively enhance the renewable energy accommodation level and system operational benefits, providing a theoretical foundation and practical reference for the coordinated planning and dispatch of regional wind-PV-storage systems.
