Hydraulic and Control Logic Optimization of Governor Based on Dual Proportional Valves and Servo Motors

  • At present, most hydropower stations adopt electro-hydraulic control modes with dual proportional valves or dual motors as the actuators of turbine governors, which adjust guide vanes by controlling the hydraulic system via electrical signals. With the in-depth construction of smart hydropower plants, higher requirements have been placed on the electro-hydraulic control performance of turbine governors. The control modes of dual proportional valves or dual motors have inherent deficiencies under complex operating conditions and environmental scenarios. Based on the existing hydraulic circuit of Yinpan Hydropower Station, this paper adopts a redundant control scheme combining AC servo motors and dual proportional valves to improve the stability and reliability of governor hydraulic control. The relevant control principles and coordination strategies are elaborated in detail.
