Research and Application of a Scalable Intelligent Safety Tool Cabinet Management System

Abstract
To solve the problems of traditional electrical safety tool cabinet systems, including limited scalability, only a single mode issue-out process, the disintegration of the management of the storage facilities and cabinets, and no multi-layered centralised control capability, we have designed an intelligent multi-layered electrical safety tool cabinet management system. Four innovations that are introduced in the system: networking (countless subsidiary cabinets connected in series to the main cabinet); dual issue-out modes (task-based and non-task-based); integrated warehouse and cabinet management; and a three-tier (centralised) control deployment architecture. The system is flexible enough to be integrated with third-party systems like work permit management systems, error prevention systems, risk control systems, and IoT sensing systems like RFID and facial recognition. It is tailored to various working and maintenance environments, such as: substations, power supply offices and centralised control stations, and addresses the digital management needs for the new power system.
