Analysis of Redundancy Design Techniques for Thermal Process Automatic Control Systems in Power Plants

Abstract
With the continuous improvement of automation levels in large-scale thermal power units, the role of thermal process automatic control systems in ensuring safe and stable unit operation has become increasingly important. To enhance the operational reliability of control systems, this paper analyzes and studies redundancy design techniques for thermal process automatic control systems in power plants. By constructing a full-stack physical redundancy architecture, designing a dual-computer hot standby and heartbeat monitoring mechanism, and introducing deterministic redundancy control techniques at the I/O channel, signal retention, and industrial Ethernet communication layers, fault isolation and rapid switching for critical control links are achieved. Testing and analysis conducted on the coordinated control system of a 600 MW supercritical unit demonstrate that the proposed redundancy design and failure prevention techniques can effectively maintain the continuous operation of the control system, thereby improving unit control stability and system reliability.
