Fault Section Location Algorithm for Distribution System Based on Circuit Analysis of Equivalent Network Model
-
Abstract
Distribution network fault location is an important part of feeder automation. The fault location algorithm should adapt to the character of the system for its variable operation state. Fault location method in the paper defines the minimum section based on tow FTU connected directly and simplifies each section using equivalent load. Builds three-phase voltage and power balance equations by the dates acquired from the normal state to recognize the line inherit parameters of the equivalent network. From the electric circuit analysis perspective, the equivalent load position in each section at the fault moment can be determined the FTU measurement before fault occurs. Through comparing the voltages calculated by the measurements in fault moment from the section ends for the equivalent load point, the fault section can be recognized. Finally, the validity of the algorithm is tested by simulation results.
