Discussion on Electrical Design of the Pumping Station in Chaohu City Yangtze River Water Supply Project

Considering equipment layout and flood season protection requirements, a double-caisson configuration is adopted, resulting in severely constrained dimensions for the pumping station of the Chaohu City Yangtze River Water Supply Project. In response to these characteristics, this paper analysis the selection schemes for main transformers, high-voltage switchgear, frequency converters, and other critical equipment. It also outlines the cable routing plan for the pumping station, providing a reference for future electrical designs of caisson-based pumping stations.
