Ultra-high Voltage Converter Station Production Water Safety Monitoring

For high-voltage converter stations equipped with water-cooling systems, it is essential to ensure the uninterrupted supply and water quality safety of the external circulating cooling water supply system to maintain the cooling of core power equipment such as thyristor converter valves. The water storage and supply pools for external water sources are usually several kilometers away from the power station, far from the operation and maintenance areas, making effective management difficult for on-site personnel. This paper designs a remote monitoring system for off-site pools and establishes a comprehensive evaluation index for production water suitable for power production needs, enabling operation and maintenance personnel to real-time grasp the water source status and the changing trends of parameters such as water quality, water level, and water temperature.
