Design of Reed Switches for Relay Auxiliary Circuits with High Mechanical Life

  • This paper investigates the design of auxiliary circuit reed switches for relays. By comparing different structural configurations of auxiliary circuit reed switches and adjusting the design based on material properties, a combination of a variable-section moving reed structure (narrow at the top and wide at the bottom) and a Z-shaped structure was adopted. This effectively reduces the local maximum stress on the reed and enhances mechanical longevity. Furthermore, Workbench finite element simulation was employed to conduct stress analysis and deformation analysis of components during the auxiliary circuit′s operational process. Experimental results demonstrate that this design scheme extends the mechanical life of the moving spring. This research provides robust support for relay applications in new energy and smart manufacturing sectors, while also offering valuable reference for future relay product design and optimisation.
