Research on Relay Protection Setting Coordination for Distribution Networks with High Proportion of New Energy Integration
-
Abstract
To address the challenges of weak fault current infeed and multi-operating-condition fluctuations caused by high-penetration renewable energy integration in distribution networks, a relay protection coordination method based on multi-operating-condition weighted optimization is proposed. The results demonstrate that the proposed method can reduce the average protection operation time across all operating conditions by 7.1%, decrease the maximum coordination time deviation by up to 78.7%, and increase the satisfaction rates of sensitivity and selectivity to over 99.7%, thereby significantly enhancing the reliability and robustness of protection in high-penetration distribution networks.
