Cable Fault Location and Identification Method Based on Port Impedance

Cables are an important carrier for power, and accurate fault location and rapid identification are important challenges. This article proposes a cable fault location and identification method based on the relationship between port impedance and faults. The basic principle was explained through a circuit model, and verified with finite element simulation software. The simulation results show that this method has good applicability for cable fault location and identification.
