Fault Condition and Handling Analysis of Current Transformer for 500 kV Main Transformer in a Large-Scale Hydropower Station

This paper introduces a practical case of inter-turn short-circuit fault in a current transformer caused by insulation aging. Through fault analysis and investigation, the fault cause is identified. In addition, and pre-control measures for the current transformer on the high-voltage side of large-scale oil-immersed transformers are provided, which can serve as a reference for peers to solve similar problems.
