Integrated Seismic Performance Analysis of Electrical Equipment in 1000 kV Rigid Bus Connection

Abstract
The electrical equipment and support structures within the 1000 kV rigid bus connection are among the most critical electrical components and structures in a 1000 kV substation. This paper evaluates the overall seismic performance of the electrical equipment and its support structures involved in a specific 1000 kV rigid bus connection at a site located in a region with a seismic fortification intensity of intensity 8. The analysis employed the finite element analysis software SAP2000, utilizing both the modal response spectrum analysis method and time history analysis. The research findings indicate that: The seismic performance of the equipment support structures can achieve performance level 1. The maximum dynamic amplification factor for the support structures was found to be 1.93, which significantly exceeds the specified value in the code for seismic design of electrical installations. Particular attention must be paid to this during engineering design.Under the Design Basis Earthquake level, the minimum safety factor for the electrical equipment was 2.4. Under the maximum considered earthquake level, the minimum safety factor for the electrical equipment was 1.2, and the maximum bending moment in the equipment did not reach its failure moment.
