Simulation Experiment Study on the Combination of Phosphorus Free Scale Inhibitor and Sulfuric Acid Treatment Process for Circulating Cooling Water

  • The purpose of circulating cooling water treatment in thermal power plants is to prevent system scaling and corrosion, and to minimize the amount of supplementary water and sewage discharge. This article focuses on the re-formulation of three non-phosphonate scale inhibitors for the makeup water quality of a circulating cooling water system in a power plant. Static scale inhibition tests, dynamic simulation tests, and static corrosion tests were conducted using both non-phosphonate scale inhibitors and a combination of non-phosphonate scale inhibitors and sulfuric acid. The scale and corrosion inhibition performance of the three agents were compared, and the optimal operating control parameters for circulating cooling water treatment were determined.
