An Insulation Protection Test Study Based on the Analysis of the Phenomenon of Breakdown Insulation Sleeve of the Antenna High-voltage Feed Line

  • To address the issue of the insulation sleeve of the antenna feeder tube being easily punctured by high voltage, which leads to the failure of monitoring the voltage of the antenna feeder tube, conduct an analysis and experimental research on the phenomenon of breakdown of insulating sleeves in antenna feeders. Firstly, the mechanism of the phenomenon of the insulation sleeve of the antenna feed tube being punctured was analyzed, systematically explaining the factors affecting the puncturing phenomenon of the insulation sleeve; then a simulation experiment was conducted on the phenomenon of the antenna feed tube penetrating the insulating sleeve. The results show that increasing the length of the insulation sleeve, improving the processing performance of the insulation sleeve, reducing the surface roughness of the antenna feeder tube and the insulation sleeve, and using better material properties such as polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) can significantly improve the insulation performance of the insulating sleeve. The subsequent engineering application also indicates that the improved insulation sleeve has the ability to withstand 20 kV high voltage of the antenna feeder tube for a long time without breakdown.
