Application of Embedded Precast Pipe Piles in Transmission Line Projects

Abstract
This paper aims to investigate the application effect of embedded precast pipe piles in transmission line projects. Firstly, based on experimental data and field case studies, an ultimate bearing capacity model for both uplift and compressive loads of the embedded post-grouting pipe piles is proposed. Secondly, field tests are conducted to verify the proposed model, and the results show that compared with traditional bored cast-in-place piles, the uplift and compressive capacities of the pipe piles are increased by 27%~42% and 58%~63%, respectively, while the project cost is reduced by approximately 20%~24%. Finally, the advantages of improved construction efficiency and energy saving through the post-grouting technique are discussed.
