Abstract
Because of excellent comprehensive performance, phase-sensitive optical time-domain reflection(φ-OTDR) technology becomes one of the most mainstream of distributed optical fiber vibration monitoring methods. Through monitoring embedded optical fiber inside the cable, the strain experienced by the cable can be obtained. As a result of the difference between the strain experienced by the embedded fiber and the cable, the experiment is designed to prove and the reason is analyzed. Based on φ-OTDR, the strain function about time along the fiber is obtained, and the disturbance point is located. The resolution of position coordinates and values of strain is respectively 1 m and 4 με.
