Application and Research of Three-level DC/DC Bidirectional Converter for Hybrid Shunting Locomotive

For the traction power supply system of 3000 horsepower energy-saving shunting locomotive, a three-level DC/DC bidirectional converter was designed, the topology and working principle of the main circuit were introduced, and the control strategies of Buck and Boost modes were simulated and tested. The results show that the three-level DC/DC bidirectional converter studied in this paper can not only supply power to the traction DC bus, but also charge the power battery, which can realize the bidirectional transmission of electric energy and meet the design requirements.
