Research on an Improved Scheme of Dead-zone Fault Identification for Feeder Automation System

  • Aiming at the problem that the current feeder automation system cannot identify and accurately remove the dead zone fault of the new distribution network, which leads to the expansion of the fault range, based on the analysis of the power flow direction of the distribution network when the fault occurs, the motor load and the feedback current characteristics of the distributed power supply, an improved fault identification scheme for dead zone fault of 10 kV distribution network based on EtherCAT bus fault identification device is proposed. The scheme can accurately identify the location of the dead zone bus, and determine the location of the fault line by using the feedback current, so as to quickly and accurately locate the dead zone fault and reduce the blackout time in the non-fault area. Finally, PSCAD/EMTDC electromagnetic transient simulation software is used to build a simulation model to verify the effectiveness and reliability of the new scheme.
