Practical Research on the Function of Intelligent Governor in Digitally Empowered Hydropower Plant

Abstract:Facing the requirements of high frequency peak regulation,fast frequency regulation and condition maintenance of hydropower units,aiming at the problems of insufficient control accuracy,closed communication and lagging fault perception of traditional governors,a scheme of digitally empowered intelligent governors is proposed.The system adopts dual-controller redundant architecture,high-precision synchronous acquisition,fuzzy PID parameter tuning,BP neural network compensation,IEC 61850 unified modeling and multi-source state diagnosis to realize the integration of control,communication and monitoring.The transformation results of a 25 MW mixed-flow unit show that the speed regulation accuracy is improved by 42.0%,the load regulation time is shortened by 41.7%,and the primary frequency regulation pass rate is 99.2%,and there has been no fault shutdown for three consecutive months.The research shows that the scheme can improve the regulation quality,enhance the self-sensing and self-diagnosis ability of equipment,and provide reference for the digital upgrade of existing hydropower units.
