Abstract: This paper presents a case of inter-turn short circuit in a rotor magnetic pole caused by aging and damage of the inter-turn insulation paper. Through fault analysis and investigation, the root cause and exact fault location were accurately identified. In addition, this paper provides fault analysis and preventive control measures for inter-turn short circuits in rotor magnetic poles of hydro-generators, offering a reference for peers in resolving similar problems.
