Abstract:
Accelerating the development of pumped storage hydropower plays a crucial role in supporting the construction of a new power system, promoting large-scale and high-proportion development of renewable energy, and achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals. Pumped storage units feature frequent operating condition transitions and high start-stop frequency. Both the back-to-back synchronous start-up and static frequency converter start-up under the pump operating condition will put the generator circuit breakers at the unit outlet under extreme operating conditions of low-frequency short-circuit current interruption. However, the existing standard system and test capacity are insufficient to meet the performance verification requirements under such special operating conditions. Taking the low-frequency short-circuit faults during the start-up process of pumped storage units as the research object, this paper analyzes the parameter design, interruption requirements and technical difficulties of circuit breakers under low-frequency operating conditions. Meanwhile, XIHARI proposes a synthetic test method based on the equivalence of arcing energy and voltage characteristics, and completes the dual verification of the method effectiveness and equipment performance through full set type tests. This research provides a standardized technical scheme for the low-frequency performance assessment of generator circuit breakers for pumped storage units, and is of great significance for promoting the localization of core switching equipment for pumped storage.
