Abstract:
With the implementation of industries such as agricultural product processing, rural tourism, and rural e-commerce, the demand for electricity in rural areas has surged dramatically. The current-carrying capacity of existing high-voltage conductors is insufficient to meet the emerging electricity demand. Meanwhile, high-voltage conductors typically pass through mountain tops and are prone to breakage under strong winds. Thus, it is imperative to develop new types of conductors to replace conventional steel-cored aluminum stranded wires, thereby enhancing transmission capacity and improving resistance to mountain winds. This paper designs a novel conductor that integrates wind-resistant and capacity-increasing technologies. The grooved surface of the conductor facilitates airflow flow-through distribution, while the optimized trace element composition of the aluminum conductor improves electrical conductivity. Additionally, a new type of clamp is systematically designed to be compatible with the novel conductor. Through simulation calculations and experimental tests, the results demonstrate that compared with conventional steel-cored aluminum stranded wires, the novel conductor reduces the wind resistance coefficient by 47.6% and increases the current-carrying capacity of the same cross-section by 32.6%. The supporting clamp reduces the stress concentration coefficient by 41.2%. This study provides a systematic solution that balances wind resistance and capacity increase for rural conductor selection, and offers sufficient electrical support for rural industrial development.
