Abstract:
Active magnetic bearings (AMBs) have been widely employed in rotating machinery and play an important role in vibration suppression and condition monitoring of flexible rotor systems. This paper reviews the application of AMBs in flexible rotor dynamic systems. By examining their operating principles, hardware configurations, experimental test rigs, measurement instruments, and related studies, the configurations and research objectives of different experimental platforms are systematically summarized and compared. The results indicate that existing studies primarily focus on vibration suppression and condition monitoring, while considerable differences remain among experimental platforms in terms of structural configuration, measurement instrumentation, and research objectives. Finally, the current state of research is summarized, and prospective directions for future research are proposed.
