Abstract:
The current-carrying capacity of existing high-voltage conductors is insufficient to meet the emerging electricity demand. Meanwhile, high-voltage conductors typically pass through mountain tops and are prone to breakage under strong winds. Thus, it is imperative to develop new types of conductors to replace conventional steel-cored aluminum stranded wires, thereby enhancing transmission capacity and improving resistance to mountain winds. This paper designs a novel conductor that integrates wind-resistant and capacity-increasing technologies. The grooved surface of the conductor facilitates airflow flow-through distribution, while the optimized trace element composition of the aluminum conductor improves electrical conductivity. Additionally, a new type of clamp is systematically designed to be compatible with the novel conductor. Simulation calculations indicate that the wind resistance coefficient of the new conductor is significantly lower than that of ordinary steel-cored aluminum stranded wire. Additionally, the current-carrying capacity of the same cross-section is increased, and the stress concentration factor is reduced by using the matching clamp. The new conductor, which integrates wind resistance and reinforcement technologies, can systematically solve the problem of rural electricity supply and provide sufficient power guarantee for rural industrial development.
