Abstract:
Ice-induced torsion of overhead ground wires on transmission lines can aggravate ice accretion and pose a serious threat to the safety of power transmission. To reduce the risk of ice disasters in power grids, this study investigates the application of an orthogonal double-pendulum anti-torsion device for suppressing ice-induced torsional motion of ground wires under natural outdoor icing conditions. The field test results demonstrate that the proposed device can effectively restrain torsional motion during ground-wire icing, providing technical support for the prevention and mitigation of icing disasters on overhead ground wires.
