Abstract:
A rigid model wind tunnel test was conducted on a seven-span 500 kV all-joint substation gantry. The investigation involved a 1/11 scale model of a single girder and a 1/32 scale model of the complete 500 kV all-joint substation gantry. The study aimed to determine the wind load shape coefficient and the interference factor for the girders, leading to an analysis for appropriate values of the girders' wind load shape coefficient. The test results indicate that for the single girder, a shape coefficient of 2.35 is recommended at a 0° wind direction angle, and 0.48 at a 90° wind direction angle. For the girders within the 500 kV fully integrated structure, a shape coefficient of 2.03 is recommended at a 0° wind direction angle, and 0.21 at a 90° wind direction angle.
