Abstract:
This paper evaluates the damage risk of 110 kV overhead power lines under the influence of wind speed changes. Based on the analysis of the probability density distribution of the instantaneous resistance (strength) of the test structure and the morphology and mutual position of the variable exposure occurring in its surrounding environment, a statistical method for assessing the reliability of power structures under the conditions of structural strength variation and exposure value variation is proposed. Through years of observation on wind speed and line failure rate, it is determined that wind force is the cause of damage to 110 kV lines. The study shows that wind force is one of the main factors leading to the failure of such equipment, and approximately 1/5 of the failures are caused by wind force. Finally, the obtained results are analyzed and explained.
