Abstract: Among common seawater desalination techniques, the low temperature multi effect distillation device(LT-MED) has been widely used and occupies an important position in engineering practice due to its low risk of scaling, low energy consumption and high thermal efficiency. This paper have reviewed the technical characteristics of commonly used LT-MED equipment, and analyzes the advantages of this technology in terms of project scale, cost, and use by comparing it with other seawater desalination technologies. Meanwhile, this article explores new co production methods and optimization paths. This demonstrates the future development direction of LT-MED technology, and will provide reference for further research and innovation.
