Abstract:
The asymmetry in the parameters of multi-circuit transmission lines sharing the same tower leads to unequal mutual inductance between circuits and phases, resulting in voltage and current imbalances within the power system. This paper investigates a 1000 kV and 500 kV quadruple-circuit mixed-voltage transmission line on the same tower, presenting the typical conductor configurations of UHV quadruple-circuit transmission lines. A simulation model was developed using PSCAD/EMTDC, along with a MATLAB-based calculation program, to analyze the effects of phase sequence arrangements and other factors on the electrical imbalance of these UHV mixed-voltage transmission lines. This study provides valuable technical insights for the engineering design and planning of future UHV quadruple-circuit mixed-voltage transmission lines on the same tower.
