Abstract:
In order to address the limitations of the existing sound-magnetic synchronous method in practical applications, this paper focuses on the complex multi-path propagation phenomenon within cable trenches in urban areas and proposes a rapid fault location method for power cables based on ultra-wideband(UWB) and acoustic signals, in order to meet the demand for fast and accurate fault location of cables. This method is based on complementary ensemble empirical mode decomposition, time delay estimation method based on intrinsic mode functions, and a joint estimation method using multiple measurement points, which transforms the estimation of the fault location into a nonlinear least squares problem, and solves it using the levenberg-marquardt(LM) algorithm. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can effectively separate the sound signals propagating through the cable from those propagating through the atmosphere, and achieve rapid and accurate localization of faults in power cables.
