Abstract:
Towers are supporting structures used in overhead transmission lines to carry power conductors. In transmission line engineering, the universal design of towers is implemented in accordance with regulatory standards and technical specifications. The objectives of universal design are to standardize design processes, enhance work efficiency and quality, with the overarching principles being safety and reliability, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability. Taking the tower design for tangent towers in the latest Yangjiang Sanshan Island Offshore Wind Flexible DC Transmission Project as an example, this analysis examines aspects including tower planning, insulation coordination, and wind deflection angle calculation.
