Abstract: This article explores the basic concepts, characteristics, design principles, and applications of real-time operating systems(RTOS) and non real time operating systems(NonRTOS) in embedded systems. Firstly, the definitions and differences between RTOS and NonRTOS were introduced, followed by an analysis of their design principles and characteristics. Then, their applications in different fields were discussed, and their advantages and disadvantages in embedded systems were compared.
